Company

For the past 15 years, Fenplast has been making high-quality, 100% PVC windows.

As you will see on our Web site, our windows are known for being one step ahead of your needs with their refined design and thermal and sound insulation quality. The focus has always been on quality PVC profiles as well as the choice of glass, hardware used and product warranties.

Fenplast

Let’s look briefly at company development:

The objective was to offer a high-quality PVC casement window that was easy to install and state of the art. Operations began in a 100 x 80 foot building. Growth in operations led Fenplast in 1993 to expand, doubling its surface area.

Less than a year later, Fenplast decided to vertically integrate itself and make large investments in European state-of-the-art technology to be able to extrude its profiles according to its specifications and thus fill the ever stricter requirements of its clientele. Out of this came Isoplus© and Isoflex© casement windows.

In January 1996, the second expansion of its infrastructures brought total surface area of its operations to over 30,000 square feet. The growth in sales as well as the addition of double-hung and sliding window systems to its product line was behind this expansion.

Then, in the summer of 1999, after acquiring other dies and equipment, and basing itself on lessons learnt from casement windows, Isorizon© and Isocal© sliding and hung windows were developed—Fenplast’s own innovations as always—which allowed the company to position itself as an integrated window manufacturer/extruder.

In 2002, a new line of casement windows, called Isolux©, were designed based on the “increased light” principle.

Also in 2002, a major two-phase investment plan was announced to take place over two years. The first phase would involve tripling floor space ( bringing it almost to 100 000 sq. ft.). Along with this expansion, a substantial amount of production equipment would be acquired to better meet delivery lead times and improve product quality.

A paint room with the latest drying equipment was added to meet the growing demand for colour windows.

The second phase of the investment plan involved completing the vertical integration by acquiring equipment for manufacturing insulating glass (I.G.) units. As with all Fenplast production equipment, this equipment is state of the art both in terms of the actual product, with the Super Spacer® from Edgetech®, and in terms of the equipment required to assemble an high performance insulating glass unit. Manufacturing control over its sealed units and the confidence in its production processes enable Fenplast to now provide a limited lifetime warranty on the insulating glass in its windows.

Fenplast is now one of the rare Canadian manufacturers to manage the entire window manufacturing process, from extrusion, to manufacturing the insulating glass, to, of course, assembling the actual window.

Therefore, if the past is any indication of the future, then the future of Fenplast will surely be bright…

Minister Agnès Maltais, at the time Minister of Employment, during a recent tour of the plant, said that “Fenplast is the perfect example of the company of the future…”
