In January 1996, the second expansion of its infrastructures brought total surface area of its operations to over 30,000 square feet. The growth in sales as well as the addition of double-hung and sliding window systems to its product line was behind this expansion.
Then, in the summer of 1999, after acquiring other dies and equipment, and basing itself on lessons learnt from casement windows, Isorizon© and Isocal© sliding and hung windows were developed Fenplast’s own innovations as always, which allowed the company to position itself as an integrated window manufacturer/extruder.
In 2002, a major two-phase investment plan was announced to take place over two years. The first phase would involve tripling floor space ( bringing it almost to 100 000 sq. ft.). Along with this expansion, a substantial amount of production equipment would be acquired to better meet delivery lead times and improve product quality.
A paint room with the latest drying equipment was added to meet the growing demand for colour windows.
The second phase of the investment plan involved completing the vertical integration by acquiring equipment for manufacturing insulating glass (I.G.) units. As with all Fenplast production equipment, this equipment is state of the art both in terms of the actual product, with the Super Spacer® from Edgetech®, and in terms of the equipment required to assemble an high performance insulating glass unit. Manufacturing control over its sealed units and the confidence in its production processes enable Fenplast to now provide a limited lifetime warranty on the insulating glass in its windows.
From that moment Fenplast is one of the rare Canadian manufacturers to manage the entire window manufacturing process, from extrusion, to manufacturing the insulating glass, to, of course, assembling the actual window.
Then in 2004, Jean Marchand joined his brothers Daniel and Pierre Marchand, as a shareholder, and became the CEO of Pomatek, who has been pre-assembling high-quality steel doors. Located in Ste-Catherine, QC, since its inception in 1979. Then moved in 2003 to Delson, into a larger new building, which was better equipped and had more facilities, by its integration into the Windows Division in 2004, it was able to better control several production steps, use its business philosophy and benefit from the production of sealed units, transoms and different PVC mouldings. Beginning in 2007 and gradually, Pomatek is displayed to the general public as the "doors division" of Fenplast.
Now Fenplast, with its two plants and more than 200 employees, has a network of dealers across Quebec and eastern Ontario. Fenplast stand out for the quality, the durability, the refined finish and the elegance of its products: all due to our never-ending quest for innovation.
Therefore, if the past is any indication of the future, then the future of Fenplast will surely be bright…
