The vision of a family

Wishing to support the vision of his older brothers Daniel and Pierre, Jean Marchand joined them in making a window to satisfy consumers at the time. In 1989, Fenplast saw the light of day in the industrial park of Delson, on Montreal’s South Shore, in a modest space of 8,000 square feet, and only made PVC casement windows. Goal: To provide specialty retailers with high-quality PVC windows that are easy to install and among the most energy efficient.

First growth spurt

In 1994, to meet the endless demand, the Marchand trio invested heavily in equipment, tools and advanced technologies to extrude window profiles according to their own designs and specifications.

Integration is the key

In 2002, a major two-year investment plan was announced to triple floor space, add production equipment and meet the growing demand for colour products, resulting in a paint chamber with state-of-the-art drying equipment. In addition, Fenplast completed its vertical integration by acquiring the equipment necessary to manufacture sealed units.

Doors are being opened

In 2004, Jean Marchand becomes the President and CEO of Pomatek, a steel door company with an excellent reputation. Gradually, Pomatek became part of Fenplast, becoming the group’s Steel Door division.

The largest plant

The year 2011 was a milestone for the company, it signaled the launch of a sliding door entirely made from a new generation of PVC: the CaloPatio, which was a resounding success! Integration of new products meant that, in 2012, Fenplast moved to a new 225,000 sq. ft. plant in Candiac to increase efficiency in all sectors and in logistics. It thus became the largest windows and doors factory in Quebec!

Meeting the consumer

After a first acquisition in 2017, it was in 2018 that Fenplast officially launched its corporate store division. Today, more than 30 points of sale are part of the network, throughout Quebec and Ontario.

Conquering the Centre-du-Québec region

With the purchase in 2020 of the assets of Fenêtres Drummond and its Fenêtres Contemporaines manufacturing division, Fenplast fulfilled two major objectives, namely associating its name with a local leader for the sale of its products and, on the other hand, increasing its manufacturing capacity.

Member of the Platinum Club of Canada's Best Managed

Winner since 2014, Fenplast is now one of Canada's Best Managed Companies for the seventh consecutive year, raising it to Platinum rank, the highest level of recognition reserved by this program.

Growth continues

By acquiring the residual assets of the Atis Group in 2021, Fenplast acquires the former Laflamme windows and doors factories located in St-Apollinaire as well as the aluminum fenestration products factory Altek windows and doors located in Saint -Joseph of Beauce. The new group is called Altek windows and doors. In addition, the company Extrusions S.P. located in Terrebonne is part of the agreement. The addition of production capacity resulting from the addition of factories allows Fenplast to better meet growing demand.
