How to achieve superior energy efficiency for your windows and doors

[All Tips]

Knowing that more than 75% of the surface area of a window or sliding door is made of glass, we have worked hard to develop glass that is both efficient and economical.

Indeed! It’s possible!

THERMAL OPTION

The “Thermal” option is a triple-glazed insulating glass with two (2) low-emissivity films (Low_E PERFO) that provides superior energy efficiency and allows the window or sliding door to be designated: “ENERGY STAR Most Efficient”.

The designation “ENERGY STAR Most Efficient” recognizes ENERGY STAR® certified products with superior energy efficiency. These products will allow you to save even more energy than classic ENERGY STAR certified models.

For sliding windows and doors, the following specific requirements must be met:

– An energy-efficiency rating (ER) of 36 (unitless) or higher
   or
– A U-factor of 1.14 W/m2·K (0.20 Btu/h·ft. 2·°F) or lower and have an ER of 26 (unitless) or higher.

The ER achieved by our casement/awning window with this option is 40 and the performance of our PVC sliding door is 42.

*Data based on the performance of Hybrid Sliding doors

If you are looking for windows and/or sliding doors with next-generation energy performance, you should opt for our “THERMAL” option.
